BODS has been performing plays and musicals in Betchworth Village Hall near Dorking since 1936, usually staged in May and November. Gilbert & Sullivan operas are a regular fixture, but recent productions have also included less frequently performed musicals such as The Beggar's Opera, and a UK premiere of Silas Marner the Musical.
We’re a friendly and fairly small group drawn from a wide area, with members of all ages from 20s to 80s. Unfortunately due to limited dressing-room facilities we're not generally able to have under-18s performing. We always welcome new members, who can join the chorus for musicals without auditioning - for principal roles, auditions are open to anyone irrespective of previous appearances with BODS. Backstage help would also be very welcome.
