Lunchtime Music at St. Matthews

There is lunchtime music every Thursday (except during August) at St Matthew’s Church, Station Road, Redhill, Surrey RH1 1DL from 1.10 to 2pm. The concerts were established in 1975 and have continued without a break ever since, contributing much to cultural life in the borough.

These weekly concerts offer the opportunity to enjoy some wonderful music in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Professionals, students from the London conservatoires, keen amateurs or talented young musicians provide programmes ranging in style from classical to jazz. Some concerts feature solo players, others chamber ensembles or choirs.

Entry is free, but donations are welcomed to help cover costs (a contribution of £3 per head is suggested but any donation, however small or large, is appreciated). Tea and coffee are available in the church from 12.45pm and many people like to bring their own sandwiches to eat during the concert. Others like to indulge in a pre-concert light lunch in the church's "Fresh Ground" coffee shop, where an excellent range of very reasonably priced food is available.
