The Horley Singers

The Horley Singers (THS) is a mixed voice, adult choir, formed in 1998, with roughly 40-members. They rehearse weekly on Monday evenings during school term time at the Horley Methodist Church on Victoria Road, Horley, with a piano accompanist. Practices start at 8pm, end at 10pm and include a short break in the middle for refreshments and chat.

THS usually perform two public concerts each year, sometimes more, and often they raise money for a local charity selected by choir members. No musical experience is required of new singers and they don’t hold auditions. All they expect from you is to sing with enthusiasm and to be a team player. No ‘prima donnas’ need apply!

When you join this choir your musical knowledge grows over time. The musical repertoire is varied and chosen to appeal to a wide audience. The group’s Musical Director, Richard Cartmale has a wealth of experience, not only as a former singer with English National Opera, but also as a composer, conductor and instrumentalist. He brings his infectious enthusiasm, humour and character to every rehearsal. For more information please email This email address is being protected from spambots.
