Shaws Corner Literary Society

Shaw’s Corner Literary Society has been established for over 100 years and meets at the United Reformed Church, Shaw’s Corner, Blackborough Road, Redhill on alternate Monday evenings at 7.45pm between October and March. The lectures are mainly Powerpoint presentations and cover a wide variety of subjects that are interesting and informative.

They have a membership of some 100, supplemented by visitors covering all age groups. Previous lectures have included the “World of Lavender”, “Tsars and Commissars”, and “William Wordsworth and the Lake District”.

The season covers twelve presentations with a membership subscription of £18 and visitors fee of £3 per lecture. Coffee or tea with biscuits are available at no extra cost. Membership details can be can be found on their website.
