Woodmansterne Operatic and Dramatic Society

As a result of a group of people getting together to raise money for a new Village Hall some 35 years ago Woodmansterne Operatic & Dramatic Society was formed. From initial modest revues, they now stage major musicals - recent successes include Annie Get Your Gun and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, as well as occasional plays or Revues / Old Time Music Hall with traditional fish and chip suppers.

Their productions are staged at St. Peter’s Church Hall where they design, build and paint all their own sets. A storage facility/workshop unit has recently been added to allow current production scenes to be worked on throughout the full rehearsal period.

WODS now has around 60 members, many of whom come from a much wider area. In addition their flourishing Junior Section, who stage a (usually home-written) pantomime each February, celebrate its own 30th anniversary in 2012 with a production of 'Jack & the Beanstalk'.

New members are always welcome for either (or both) performing or back stage roles and various social activities. For more details, please contact the Chairman, Martin Woodley 01737 361552, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
